  Introduction

This course looks at all risks in the day to day work and business environment
together with a strong analysis of the consequences when things go wrong.

Businesses and organisations increasingly need to anticipate the likelihood and
consequences of unexpected events and the necessary short and long term responses.


This course is structured around the three core themes of fire, disaster and management
and prevention.


Fire risks - you will study a wide range of risks associated with fire in the day to day work and business environment.

You will learn to identify, assess and manage risk.


Disaster - the disaster management element of the course will develop your ability to
analyse the consequences when things go wrong and will provide the practical skills
or disaster prevention, preparedness, mitigation and management.

  Objective

By completing the disaster management course, the participants will learn how to: develop
effective strategies and systems for disaster prevention, mitigation, response and
recovery and how to apply risk management in order to identify, assess and deal with disaster.

 

  Course delivery strategy

The course will equip participants with appropriate decision making, strategic and analytical
processes.


It will encourage participants to think creatively through interactive lectures, field and practical exercises, work sheets, discussions, research and group work


Certificates will only be awarded to participants who complete all course requirements.
